Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Local Preflight handles information when you use the website and browser-based preflight utility.

1. Files stay local

Local Preflight is designed so that the files you select are processed locally in your browser for preflight checks. File contents are not uploaded to Local Preflight servers. The product may inspect filenames and relative paths inside your browser in order to produce findings.

2. Analytics

The website uses Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the site is used. Events may include page views and aggregate actions such as a scan starting or finishing, the number of problems found (in ranges), licence activation and checkout steps. Selected file names, folder names, paths and file contents are never included in analytics events. When a purchase completes, the Paddle transaction reference and amount are recorded so that sales can be counted once.

3. Licence activation

If you activate or validate a paid licence, Local Preflight may send the licence key and a browser-instance identifier to the licence-validation service so that paid access can be verified.

4. Payments

Payments are handled by the payment provider or merchant-of-record shown at checkout. Local Preflight does not directly collect or store your full payment-card details.

5. Technical data

Like most websites, hosting, analytics and security providers may process basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, timestamps and referring pages as part of operating and protecting the service.

6. Data retention

Analytics, payment and licence-service providers may retain information according to their own policies and applicable law. Local browser storage may retain licence information on your device so the product can remember an activated licence. If a payment completes while the page is open, the Paddle transaction reference is stored in this browser until the licence has been delivered, so that delivery can resume if the page is closed or reloaded.

7. Your choices

You can avoid scanning any folder by not selecting it. You can also clear this site's browser storage to remove locally stored licence information, although doing so may require reactivation.

8. Contact
