Terms of Service

Last updated: 26 August 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of Local Preflight, a browser-based preflight utility designed to help identify common filename and path issues before files are moved to Microsoft SharePoint or OneDrive.

1. What the service does

Local Preflight performs lightweight checks in your browser against the local folders and files you explicitly select. It is a preflight aid only. It does not perform a Microsoft migration and does not guarantee that any migration will succeed.

2. Local processing

Selected file contents are not uploaded to Local Preflight servers. The browser uses filenames and relative paths needed to run the checks. Usage analytics may record aggregate product events such as a scan starting or completing, but are not intended to contain selected filenames or file contents.

3. Licence

When you purchase a paid Local Preflight licence, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the paid product features for your own lawful business or personal use, subject to the terms shown at checkout.

4. Acceptable use

You may not misuse the service, attempt to interfere with its operation, bypass licence controls, reverse engineer protected portions of the service where prohibited by law, or use the service for unlawful purposes.

5. No migration guarantee

Local Preflight checks only the rules implemented in the current product. Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, operating systems, migration tools and tenant configurations may impose additional requirements. You remain responsible for validating your migration plan and results.

6. Availability and changes

The service may be updated, improved, limited or discontinued. Features and supported checks may change as the product develops.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Local Preflight is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from reliance on the preflight results. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.

8. Payments

Payments may be processed by a third-party merchant-of-record or payment provider identified during checkout. That provider may also apply its own checkout, tax, payment and refund procedures.

9. Contact
